BLAST FROM THE PAST - July 22, 2013

Hello - poki here for my Monday post from Amber's Designer Gallery at The Digi Chick.  For today's post I went back to the oldest pages in the gallery, and searched out beautiful examples of these five kits:  CHEESECAKE, GOLDEN DAYS, JAWBREAKER, JUST PEACHY and SIMPLICITY.  They were all released either during Amber's Grand Opening at TDC or just after it!  And I found lots of beautiful examples to show you today!

First up:  CHEESECAKE  (You can tell how old these kits are ... they still have Amber's old logo on them!)  

First sample is from Kristen  - along with CHEESE CAKE template she used The Digi Chick designers collab GLITTER AND MEMORIES (also available at The Digi Chick) I love the star scatter she used!

Next up is a beauty from Chrissy using CHEESECAKE templates and Kimeric Kreations A LOVE LIKE THIS (also available at TDC)  The delicate color palette in the kit provides amazing contrast for her photo!

Now let's move on to GOLDEN DAYS  

Here are some beautiful samples from this template pack ... the first from Carolina Scrapper  - this is another fabulous example of  contrast light/dark!  What a sweet face, but does it hide secrets?  Great kit choice here with Bella Gypsy Designs ROUGH AND TUMBLE! 

Next, an example from me poki04 using GOLDEN DAYS template with Etc by Danyale CHRISTMAS MAGIC ... love the non-traditional color palette with iconic Christmas images!  

Now, let's take a look at Amber's template pack JAWBREAKER 

I just love the use of the chevron images in the templates ... so much movement energy!

I found a few samples, and will share two ... first from doti40 

I love the "vintage look" she achieved with color palette and kit choice (Blue Flower Art & Joey Designs VINTAGE POP) - a lovely compliment to that wistful photo!

Next I will share a layout from RelocatedDixieGirl with a dilemma - wonder what decision she made?. She used a kit from Kaye Winiecki JUST ONE MORE PAGE to complete this look!

JUST PEACHY provides the frame work for some beautiful cluster work!

Conny definitely has a way with clusters!  Amazing!!!  She used kit from Raspberry Road WHISPERS OF WINTER

One more template pack - one of my favorites SIMPLICITY  (I truly am a "minimalist" at heart!)

Photo pose inspiration

Sharon here today to talk about photography inspiration.  I love to take pictures and decided I wanted to do a family photo shoot.  Since I have three rowdy and impatient boys, I decided that I needed to be prepared with photo poses before I did the shoot.  So, I went to Pinterest for photo pose inspiration.  I found quite a few that I liked and decided my favorite ones were family pics on railroad tracks.

The day of the photo shoot, I grabbed my camera, tripod and trusty camera remote and went to a nearby train track.  The boys loved walking on the tracks and goofing off and I got some great pics of that as well, but my main reason for the shoot was a family photo.  Here's my favorite from the day:

I am no expert at all on photography and I would have preferred my lighting a few hours earlier, but all in all I'm thrilled to have a family photo and it wouldn't have turned out as good without a little help from photo inspiration online.  So hopefully next time you want a good family picture, use can use the internet to help you out too!
