GALLERY STAND OUT - July 29, 2013

Hi!  poki here again for the Monday peek into the Southern Serenity Designs GALLERY at The Digi Chick.  Since I did a "Blast from the Past" for last week's post I had two weeks of beautiful new layouts from which to choose my StandOuts this week!  I was certainly not disappointed - there were plenty of beautiful layouts there!  

I want to start with Amber's latest template pack WONTON SOUP, released this past Thursday (7/25/2013)  - a great template pack for whatever number of photos you want to include (one, two, three or four) ... and any of those photo blocks can be altered into a journaling blocks as well!  As always, Amber has provided a fabulous "road map" for cluster building too!

Cardinalskate picked the one photo template from WONTON SOUP and combined it with 2 a.m. Designs HELP YOUR MEMORY (also available at The Digi Chick) to create this beautiful layout.  Be sure to go visit the Designer gallery to take a look at this lovely layout! 

I found a gorgeous layout by alannabanana using Amber's CREATIVE INSPIRATIONS: HAILEY

alannabanana combined the CI: HAILEY template with kit from Tracie Stroud SORROW to create this fabulous memorial page.  She has some amazing cluster work here, and that brilliant red ribbon really draws attention to her photos!  Wow!

Next up I have two layouts to show you that use Southern Serenity Designs COTTAGE ROMANCE templates.

Beatricemi combined Amber's COTTAGE ROMANCE templates with Etc by Danyale COTTAGE ROMANCE  kit  (They are available at TDC in a bundle!) and created this lovely vintage page 

Being personally just a little bit PINK-phobic, I was certainly happy to see how beautifully Amber's templates combined with non-pink kits!  I found this fabulous layout in Amber's Designer Gallery created by Intensemagic - what a difference the kit choice makes!  In this layout we see a combination of Amber's COTTAGE ROMANCE template 2 with Sarah Jones Designs ROCKIE! (also available at The Digi Chick)

Fresh Look: Fa-la-la

Kari here to take a fresh look at an older template pack.  Today we're looking at Fa-la-la.

I just picked this pack up myself, so I don't have an older page to revamp, but I did take a look in Amber's gallery & I found quite a few pages using this pack.  While I can't feature all the pages like I would love to, I chose this page by ConnyS.  (click here for full credits)

I love the Christmasy feel of her page, but I wanted to see how it would look with a different type of kit.  I used the same template, but I used a sad type kit.  You can view my credits here.

New Release!

BLAST FROM THE PAST - July 22, 2013

Hello - poki here for my Monday post from Amber's Designer Gallery at The Digi Chick.  For today's post I went back to the oldest pages in the gallery, and searched out beautiful examples of these five kits:  CHEESECAKE, GOLDEN DAYS, JAWBREAKER, JUST PEACHY and SIMPLICITY.  They were all released either during Amber's Grand Opening at TDC or just after it!  And I found lots of beautiful examples to show you today!

First up:  CHEESECAKE  (You can tell how old these kits are ... they still have Amber's old logo on them!)  

First sample is from Kristen  - along with CHEESE CAKE template she used The Digi Chick designers collab GLITTER AND MEMORIES (also available at The Digi Chick) I love the star scatter she used!

Next up is a beauty from Chrissy using CHEESECAKE templates and Kimeric Kreations A LOVE LIKE THIS (also available at TDC)  The delicate color palette in the kit provides amazing contrast for her photo!

Now let's move on to GOLDEN DAYS  

Here are some beautiful samples from this template pack ... the first from Carolina Scrapper  - this is another fabulous example of  contrast light/dark!  What a sweet face, but does it hide secrets?  Great kit choice here with Bella Gypsy Designs ROUGH AND TUMBLE! 

Next, an example from me poki04 using GOLDEN DAYS template with Etc by Danyale CHRISTMAS MAGIC ... love the non-traditional color palette with iconic Christmas images!  

Now, let's take a look at Amber's template pack JAWBREAKER 

I just love the use of the chevron images in the templates ... so much movement energy!

I found a few samples, and will share two ... first from doti40 

I love the "vintage look" she achieved with color palette and kit choice (Blue Flower Art & Joey Designs VINTAGE POP) - a lovely compliment to that wistful photo!

Next I will share a layout from RelocatedDixieGirl with a dilemma - wonder what decision she made?. She used a kit from Kaye Winiecki JUST ONE MORE PAGE to complete this look!

JUST PEACHY provides the frame work for some beautiful cluster work!

Conny definitely has a way with clusters!  Amazing!!!  She used kit from Raspberry Road WHISPERS OF WINTER

One more template pack - one of my favorites SIMPLICITY  (I truly am a "minimalist" at heart!)

Photo pose inspiration

Sharon here today to talk about photography inspiration.  I love to take pictures and decided I wanted to do a family photo shoot.  Since I have three rowdy and impatient boys, I decided that I needed to be prepared with photo poses before I did the shoot.  So, I went to Pinterest for photo pose inspiration.  I found quite a few that I liked and decided my favorite ones were family pics on railroad tracks.

The day of the photo shoot, I grabbed my camera, tripod and trusty camera remote and went to a nearby train track.  The boys loved walking on the tracks and goofing off and I got some great pics of that as well, but my main reason for the shoot was a family photo.  Here's my favorite from the day:

I am no expert at all on photography and I would have preferred my lighting a few hours earlier, but all in all I'm thrilled to have a family photo and it wouldn't have turned out as good without a little help from photo inspiration online.  So hopefully next time you want a good family picture, use can use the internet to help you out too!
